Silverstone Golf Club held their Ladies Open Golf Competition on Tuesday 9^th September.  Although the weather wasn’t kind, all teams who had entered the event turned up to battle the conditions as well as the course to try and win this year’s competition.

The format for the day was a 3 ball alliance event where all 3 team member’s scores counted on the par 3’s and then the best 2 scores on all the other holes.  There was also a straightest drive and nearest the pin competition.

The winners of the straightest drive and nearest the pin were:

Straightest Drive – Karen Docherty from Breedon Priory Golf Club

Nearest the Pin – Sharon Avann from Silverstone Golf Club.

Runner’s Up in the Open Competition were Terry Lloyd, Alice Smith and Sharon Avann from Silverstone Golf Club with 70 points and the overall winners of the day were Janet Cox, Denise Turvey and Nicki Turbayne also from Silverstone Golf Club with 83 points.
